What causes the hydraulic cylinder to leak oil?
Normally, there are two types of hydraulic oil cylinder leakage: external oil leakage and internal oil leakage.
I. External leakage
1. The seal between the extension end of the piston rod and the piston rod is damaged, mostly due to the aging of the piston rod and the formation of burrs.
2. The seal between the protruding end of the piston rod and the cylinder liner is damaged. This is mostly due to the long-term use of the seal and the aging of the seal ring. There are also many damages caused by the upper cover extruding the seal kit.
3. The crack of the hydraulic cylinder inlet and outlet pipe joints will also cause leakage of the hydraulic cylinder.
4. Oil leakage caused by defects on the cylinder block or cylinder head.
5. The piston rod is strained and damaged, with pits, etc.
6. The deterioration of the lubricating oil increases the temperature of the hydraulic cylinder and promotes the aging of the sealing ring.
7. The oil leakage is usually formed by using beyond the pressure limit of the cylinder.
Generally, oil leakage is caused by deformation, aging, wear and damage of the main oil seal.
Therefore, when making the cylinder, a good quality oil seal should be selected, which can greatly increase the service life of the hydraulic cylinder.
Our cylinders are made of NOK, WKF and domestic high-quality seals, so our cylinders have a long service life.
II. Internal leakage
1. The wear ring on the piston is worn, causing collision between the piston and the cylinder liner, and then straining the cylinder liner, piston and seal ring.
2. The seal ring fails for a long time, and the piston seal (mostly U, V, Y ring) is aging.
3. The hydraulic oil is dirty, and a large amount of impurities enter the cylinder to wear out the piston seal, usually iron filings or other foreign objects.
